Early Years & Foundation Stage

F1 Daily Routines

Daily Routines

Nursery sessions run from 8:30am until 11:30am in the morning and 12:30pm in the afternoon. We have places for 52 children per session.

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, the children are encouraged to learn through play based activites and experiences around a topic. The topics are often chosen around the childrens current intrests and needs.

The children are grouped into either the ‘Snowflakes’ or the ‘Raindrops’ for carpet time learning. In Nursery the children participate in three ‘Read Write Inc’ phonics sessions per week and two ‘Puzzle’ maths sessions. In ‘Read, Write Inc’ the children learn new letter sounds and begin blending and segmenting sounds to read and write words.

Brushing Buddies

Brushing Buddies is a Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust initiative to promote good oral healthcare for children. Each session the children use their own personalised toothbrush to clean their teeth under the supervision of the F1 staff. What our session looks like:

  • Register and carpet time
  • Child initiated learning and an adult led activities
  • Phonics/maths
  • Child initiated learning and an adult led activities
  • Brushing Buddies
  • Story/singing

From time to time our routines may vary slightly according to the children’s needs however we endeavour to maintain stability and continuity through our sessions.
