Community Links

The community is at the heart of Robert Shaw.

We are a creative school and produce a variety of performances, which the school and local community are invited to.  We like to get out into the community and perform, too!

We welcome the community into school, and many of our parents help in various voluntary capacities.  We also encourage friends of the school to share their skills and talents, and if you have something to offer we would love to hear from you.  As we seek to encourage open communication, feedback and discussion, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you feel the need.

Community Cohesion Policy

Robert Shaw in the Community

School has an active role to play within our community and regularly take part in community clean up events.

Our younger children have close links with Willows facility, and enjoy visiting and singing to the local community who attend this facility.

Our children work hard to raise money for charity, recently this has included shoe boxes for refugees, NSPCC maths day events and Children in Need.

Children in Year 4 are currently ‘walking to the moon’, in order to raise money for schools and orphanages in Uganda.

Children raised over £250 and donated Shoeboxes to support children and families affected by the crisis in Ukraine.

The school has a field located on Southfield Road, this is open daily for the use of the local community, in order for them to have a recreational space.
