School Choir

The Robert Shaw Primary and Nursery School Choir is made up of about 40 boys and girls from Year 2 to Year 6. Anyone who loves singing can join – just come along and have a chat with Mrs Amoabil. We rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime at 11.45am.

The choir is very popular in the local community and we are asked to sing at many local and UK wide events.

Our highlights in recent years have been ‘Voice in a Million’ at Wembley Arena, ‘Christmas in the City’ at St. Mary’s Church in the Lace Market and visiting Capital One Offices to sing at their Christmas dinner (they also taught the children what it is like to work for Capital One which inspired everyone to work hard at school!)

In 2025 we have continued to be really proud of our choir- we have been chosen to sing at the Lord Mayor of Nottingham’s Christmas Carol service as well as at the Masonic Carol service at St. Andrew’s church in Nottingham . We were also very proud to win the competition to open the Wollaton Hall Christmas Lights event.

We regularly sing at the local Willow’s Day Centre where we entertain the elderly and adults with disabilities.

In January 2026, we will be travelling to London to sing at the National Festival of Flourishing in Hackney.

As you can see, we are a very busy choir, but we really enjoy every minute and find it all very exciting!

Look out for us in the local community – you can spot us in our special #choir T-Shirts!
