British Values
Promoting British Values at Robert Shaw Primary School and Nursery. In 2011, the government defined British Values as “democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs”. We regularly promote these values through our own school values, curriculum, Collective Assemblies, School visits and a wide range of enrichment activities.
Positive Behaviour
It is the policy of the school that everyone involved with our children will always look to help them acquire the skills necessary to resolve their own conflicts.
Two major strands of this are:
1. To develop the ability to accept responsibility for their own actions and the consequences
2. To develop alternative strategies in dealing with situations involving conflict.
This policy statement outlines the procedures, rewards and sanctions.
