Key Information

Behaviour

At Robert Shaw, we take the behaviour of all our children extremely seriously, and we are proud that the behaviour of our pupils continues to improve.  We have had no fixed-term or permanent exclusions in the last 3 years, and the many visitors we welcome comment on our pupils conduct and attitude.

We have just 3 rules which we expect the children to follow, we feel that these rules are self explanatory and cover all reasonable expectations of behaviour.  Copies of these rules are displayed around the school, and the children are reminded of them regularly at assembly time.

Our School Values:

  • Be respectful
  • Be responsible
  • Be resilient

If a child breaks a school rule, they can receive a “detention” – this involves completing a Behaviour Log which is kept as a record of the incident, they may also need to miss play times. All detentions are recorded as data for behaviour analysis.

In certain circumstances, children may be moved to another classroom to complete their work in isolation.

Our Behaviour Policy can be viewed from the link below. Please take some time to read it.
